This weekend, tens of thousands will descend upon our community for the annual Apple and Pork festival. For many of us, it means working very hard to support the organizations we are a part of, and a disruption of our usual schedules and activities. For Clinton FCC, this Sunday means a ONE SERVICE Sunday at 9:30am - no programming this week at 8:15 or 10:45 on Apple and Pork Sunday. Will you do your very best to make our ONE SERVICE Sunday this week at 9:30am? Enjoy the Apple and Pork festival! And make sure you grab a Rotary pulled pork sandwich and a YMCA pork cutlet sandwich!
Our community has once again been dealt a difficult tragedy to deal with - the loss of one of our young HS students in an accident. Please pray for the Weiss family during this unimaginable time, as well as the Mills family. May the God of all Comfort bring peace and blessing in a manner no human can. Please remember our first responders who serve our community and are the first ones on accident scenes - doing their very best to protect and serve and save.
Please remember all of those involved in the lives of our students - the administration and staff at our schools, especially Clinton High School, as well as the various student ministries in our community. I was personally so thankful for Ben Pertl, Allison Hitchings, Jacey Wickenhauser and Amanda Scott, for their presence at Clinton HS Saturday night in the hours following this accident. We are so blessed as a community for the work of Michelle Witzke and her team at the Vault - their doors were opened yesterday for the students of our community to have a safe place to grieve. "The Lord is close to the broken-hearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." "Cast all your cares on the Lord - He cares for you."
