Our Beliefs

Everyone's welcome at FCC, regardless of belief. All can belong before they believe. We believe the Bible guides our Christian life. These beliefs shape our teaching, culture, and direction, reflecting what we say and do.

  • The Bible

The Bible is the powerful, transformative, and authoritative inspired Word of God.

    (2 Tim. 3:16-17; Psalm 119:105)

  • Baptism

Baptism by immersion is an act of obedience, a celebration, and part of the salvation process.

    (Acts 2:38; 1 Cor. 15:1-2)

  • Creation

All of us were created in the image of God and made to reflect his love and goodness to the world.

    (Gen. 1:27)

  • The Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is sent to be God's presence in the world. He indwells those who believe in Jesus and is Comforter, Guide, Teacher, and Helper.

    (John 14:26; Acts 1:8; 1 Cor. 6:19)

  • Sin

We are all broken and sinful and are in need of a Savior.

    (Rom. 3:23)

  • Communion

    We celebrate communion together weekly.

    (Acts 20:7; 1 Cor. 11:23-29)

  • Jesus

Jesus, fully God and fully human, was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He lived with the mission of dying as our Savior to offer eternal cleansing of our sins. He resurrected on the third day and ascended to heaven to grant life and grace both now and forever for those who enter into relationship with him.

    (John 3:16; Acts 2:38, Rom. 6:23, Eph. 2:8-9)

  • Spiritual Gifts

We are all gifted and called by God for the sake of His Church.

    (Rom. 12:3-8, Eph. 4:7-13, 1 Pet. 2:9)

Accepting Jesus

  • The Gospel and Salvation

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only

Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have

    eternal life.

    - John 3:16

This is the Gospel in a sentence.

God created this world and all in it, including you, for

relationship with him. God loves this world and all in it,

including you. All that God is and all that God does is

    grounded in that love.

But, the world is messed up. Sin entered the picture long

ago and God's creation, including you, has been broken

ever since. But...God did not give up when on us he saw

the brokenness. He chose love. He chose to send his one

    and only Son, Jesus.

Generously, graciously, and lovingly, Jesus was born into

this world, fully God and fully man. Jesus did not come from

us or because of us, but he came for us. God gave Jesus to

the world that he loves. A gift.

Those who receive that gift of love, who believe that Jesus

is the Son of God, who have faith that Jesus lived a fully

human life and still never sinned, who believe that Jesus

was crucified, died, and buried, who believe that he

resurrected on the third day, and who have faith that he

now sits at the right hand of God....those people truly can receive God's gift of salvation.

God doesn't love you more because you accepted his gift,

but he rejoices that you chose to accept his gift of

salvation through Jesus. He rejoices that you are choosing

to submit to Jesus, not just as your Savior, but also as

Lord. He rejoices that you have accepted his gift of life eternal, a life

forever in relationship with him and in his presence.

  • How do I accept and respond to God's gift of salvation through Jesus?

    - Admit that you have sinned and separated yourself from God.

Romans 3:23 - For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

    - Believe in Jesus Christ as your personal Savior.

Romans 5:8 - But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

    - Repent of your sin & confess that Jesus is the Lord of your life.

Romans 10:9 - If you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

    - Celebrate & demonstrate your relationship with Jesus through baptism.

Romans 6:3-5 - Don’t you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.

    - Gather with other believers for encouragement & to grow in your faith and scatter into the world to share the love & good news of Jesus with others.

2 Peter 3:18 - But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever!

    - Matthew 28:19-20 - Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.
